Payment Plans
Payment Plans will be available during Early Bird Registration through Sports Connect (previously Blue Sombrero). All payments must be received by July 15th to ensure placement on a team. Sports Connect charges a non-refundable $2.75 service fee on the initial transaction and an additional $0.50 service fee on each additional payment transaction.

Scholarships
Limited scholarships are available. Proof of need is required. This can be reduced cost school lunch, food stamps, or something similar. Proof of Need must be in writing from the institution that administered it, e.g. reduced lunch approval letter from the school district, eligibility verification from CalFresh, CalWORKs, or MediCAL, etc..
To apply for a scholarship, complete the Scholarship Application Form and email Proof of Need to scholarships@ayso17.org. A separate application must be completed for each player - if you are applying for a scholarship for more than one player, you will need to fill out the form multiple times. Scholarships will be approved on a first come, first served basis until all scholarships have been awarded.
Age Divisions
Sports Connect will place each player in the correct division based on the birth date entered. Proof of birth-date (birth certificate, passport) is required for all players new to Region 17. This can be uploaded directly into Sports Connect during the registration process or emailed to registrar@ayso17.org. A player's division for the 2024 Membership Year (MY2024) which includes the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 seasons is determined based on their birth year:

Refund Policy
Only the Region Fee can be refunded. The AYSO Membership fee of $25.00 per player goes directly to AYSO National and is NON-REFUNDABLE. The AYSO Membership fee applies to all AYSO Programs in MY2025 for that player - it will not be charged again when registering for another MY2025 Program/Region. The Service Fee of $2.75 per transaction goes directly to Sports Connect and is also NON-REFUNDABLE.
A player may withdraw from Region 17 and request a refund by having the parent or guardian of the player send a written request via email to the Treasurer at treasurer@ayso17.org. All refund requests must be made directly to the treasurer.

VOLUNTEERS are CRUCIAL to the success of our program.
Region 17 is run entirely by volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers, including Coaches, Referees, and Board Members. Please contact the Coach Admin for more information on volunteering as a Coach, the Referee Admin for more information on volunteering as a Referee, or the Regional Commissioner for other volunteering opportunities.
If we do not have enough volunteers (parents) to support our season, then you may be notified that we cannot accept your child's registration, so please register to volunteer via Sports Connect.
Training is provided for all volunteers. Safe Haven, Concussion Awareness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest are required for all volunteers and must be taken once during your AYSO career. There are many opportunities for Coach and Referee training prior to the start of the season for all volunteers (new or veterans). The time commitment for Referees is as little as 60 minutes each weekend during the season.
